My first figure watercolor -- done lightly and spontaneously, for fun, as a study and an exercise. And then filed away, only rediscovered in 2007. Lovingly adapted from the 1800s painting Myrtle, by one of my favorite Victorian artists, Albert Joseph Moore. I liked the figure better as a simple nude, without all the drapery, furniture, and background wallpaper (though Moore rendered each of those wonderfully, as he always did). With my hand-written pencil notes to left of figure, "Dec30, 1991 / After 'Myrtle' / by Albert Joseph Moore"
