A woman survives in a dark, raging sea, chained cruelly to a half-sinking bit of wreckage, with only a compass to guide her and a single small flame to light her way. Her tattered gown has royal colors -- perhaps she is a princess, captured and enslaved in ancient times, a valuable prize of war being transported to her captors' homeland. Still, her calm, knowing, confident look shows us that, despite her seemingly hopeless situation, she will not give up -- she is free and will somehow survive.
